The San Roque González de Santa Cruz Bridge is a 2,550-metre cable-stayed bridge spanning the Paraná River between Encarnación and Posadas, Argentina. It is one of the longest bridges in South America and was completed in 1990, replacing the ferry crossing that preceded it.
The bridge is worth seeing as an engineering achievement, and the views from the Paraguayan bank over the Paraná are impressive. It is also a practical crossing point into Argentina — the Posadas side has better transport connections and a wider range of services.
