The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is Minas' main church and the strongest landmark in the centre. Its twin towers rise above the low streets near Plaza Libertad, giving the town a more formal civic face than its size might suggest.
Inside, the cathedral is simple rather than lavish, but it is a useful pause while walking the centre. Visit together with Plaza Libertad and Teatro Lavalleja; all three sit close enough to make a compact introduction to Minas.
