Plaza de los Fundadores is Nueva Helvecia's main square and the easiest place to read the town's Swiss identity. The monument, flower clock, and surrounding streets make it feel more like a commemorative village centre than a normal Uruguayan plaza.
Start here before walking the nearby churches. The square gives context to the crests, names, and Central European references that appear around town.
