The Primera Capilla Evangelica is one of Nueva Helvecia's most important early buildings. Built in 1863 with help from both evangelical and Catholic members of the settlement, it says a lot about how the immigrant colony organised itself in its first years.
The larger Evangelical Temple beside it followed in the 1880s. Together they make a useful stop not only for architecture, but for understanding how strongly the town's religious and immigrant roots shaped its centre.
