Cayo Borracho — "Drunken Cay" — sits a short boat ride north of Chichiriviche and offers some of the best snorkeling in the park. The reef on its eastern and northern sides is more intact than those around the more heavily visited cays, with decent coral cover and schools of reef fish visible even to beginners. Bring your own snorkeling gear from town if possible; rentals are not always available on the island.
The beach on the protected side is narrow but attractive, with clear, shallow water and good shade from palm trees. Because it attracts a slightly more adventurous crowd — those willing to snorkel rather than just swim — it tends to be somewhat quieter than Cayo Sombrero even at peak periods. A round trip boat ride from the Chichiriviche waterfront takes about 20–25 minutes each way; arrange pickup time with your boatman before he leaves.
