A larger cay closer to Chichiriviche, with a long calm-water beach on the inland side that is good for families and swimming. Cayo Sal has more vegetation than the smaller sandbar cays, so there is real shade — useful in the middle of the day when the sun is overwhelming.
Boats from Chichiriviche reach Sal in around fifteen minutes, which makes it one of the cheaper trips. The beach can get crowded on holidays but on a normal weekday it stays pleasantly quiet.
