Adrar has a small airport (Touat-Cheikh Sidi Mohamed Belkebir) with daily flights from Algiers and several other domestic routes. By road, Adrar sits at the junction of the long Saharan route from El-Goléa in the north and the long-distance road across the Erg Chech to In Salah and Reggane in the south. Buses run from the north but the journey from Algiers takes well over 24 hours of hard driving. A 4WD is essential for anything beyond the main routes.
