Constantine has its own airport, Mohamed Boudiaf International Airport (CZL), 9 km from the city centre, with frequent flights to Algiers (45 minutes) and seasonal international connections to Paris, Marseille, Lyon, and several other French cities. Air Algérie dominates domestic routes.
By train, Constantine is connected to Algiers (around 7 hours by the overnight express) and Annaba (2.5 hours east, near the Tunisian border). The train station is in the new city. By road, the national highway system connects Constantine to Algiers (430 km west) and to Tunis via Annaba. Long-distance buses are available from the main bus station near the new city and are the standard intercity transport for Algerians.
Taxis from the airport to the city centre take about 20 minutes and are reasonable by Algerian standards. Negotiate the price before getting in.
