Timgad Museum

The museum on the eastern edge of the archaeological site holds the objects excavated from Timgad over more than a century of work — floor mosaics, sculpture, coins, everyday ceramics, oil lamps, and household tools that turn the ruins into an inhabited city rather than an abstraction. The mosaics are the highlight: large panels preserved in remarkable color, showing geometric patterns, hunting scenes, and mythological subjects from the floors of Timgad's wealthier homes.

Don't skip it in the rush to cover the outdoor site. The ruins explain the city's layout; the museum explains its life. Allow 30 to 45 minutes.
