Koudougou is about 75 km west of Ouagadougou. Buses and shared transport run from the capital throughout the day, and the road makes it one of the easier provincial cities to reach without flying.
The city is also on the rail line toward Bobo-Dioulasso and Côte d'Ivoire, though schedules and reliability change. For most travellers, road transport from Ouagadougou is the simpler plan.
