Getting There

Mansoura is about 120km northeast of Cairo by road. Buses and minibuses run frequently from Cairo's Turgoman and Midan Tahrir departure points throughout the day; the journey takes around two to two and a half hours depending on traffic. Air-conditioned buses operated by Go Bus and GoBus are the most comfortable option. The road passes through the industrial and agricultural Delta landscape — not scenic, but fast.

By train, Mansoura is served on the Cairo–Damietta line. Several trains daily connect to Cairo's Ramses Station, with the journey taking approximately two to three hours. The station is central and a short taxi ride from the main sights.

From Alexandria, buses run via the Delta road network; the journey takes around two hours. There are no direct trains from Alexandria without changing in Cairo or Tanta.

There is no domestic airport at Mansoura; the nearest international airports are at Cairo (Cairo International) and Damietta, which handles limited domestic traffic. Most international visitors arrive via Cairo.
