Amora Gedel Park is a modest green patch by the lake, but it gives Hawassa some of its charm. Monkeys move through the trees, waterbirds work the shallows, and the lake breeze makes it a good place to pause after the fish market.
The park is not polished, and that is part of the point. Come with low expectations, take your time, and watch the shore rather than treating it like a formal attraction.
