The Loango coast is the park's signature landscape: a long, empty Atlantic beach backed by forest and low vegetation. This is where the stories of beach-roaming elephants, buffalo, and surf-side hippos come from, though sightings depend on season, luck, and patient guiding.
Even without a dramatic animal encounter, the coast is worth the trip. The beach feels almost impossibly unbuilt, with heavy surf, big skies, and forest pressing close behind the dunes. It is a place to watch tracks, birds, weather, and the changing light rather than rush from one marked viewpoint to another.
