The upscale residential and dining district in northeast Accra, characterised by high-walled villas, international restaurants, and a nightlife scene that has in recent years given Osu serious competition. Much of the new-money Accra dining action has shifted here — you'll find Korean, sushi, modern Ghanaian cooking, and cocktail bars that would not look out of place in London or Nairobi, interspersed among the gated compounds.
Getting here from the centre takes twenty minutes by Bolt or Uber in light traffic, longer in the evenings when the Ring Road backs up. It's not the place to come for the street-level Accra experience — for that, you want Nima or Makola — but for a meal or a night out in comfortable surroundings, East Legon is where the city's energy currently points.
