Getting There

Busua is about 30 kilometres west of Takoradi, Ghana's main port city in the Western Region. From Takoradi's main tro-tro station, take a shared taxi or tro-tro towards Agona Nkwanta or Dixcove and ask to be dropped at the Busua junction; from there, a short walk or motorbike taxi takes you to the beach. The journey from Takoradi takes around 45 minutes to an hour. Taxis from Takoradi can also be chartered for a direct run to Busua for a negotiated rate.

From Accra, the most practical approach is to take a bus to Takoradi (4–5 hours, various companies including VIP and STC) and connect from there. Some visitors hire a private car from Accra, which takes 4–5 hours direct.

There is no public transport directly into the village; the last kilometre or two from the junction is done by foot or motorbike taxi.
