Atelier d'Art and Centre de Céramique

The Centre de Céramique de Bingerville, founded in the colonial era and revived after independence, is a working sculpture and ceramics school. It is the closest thing the town has to a contemporary cultural anchor, and the gallery rooms display work by current students and established Ivorian artists.

Buyers will find pieces that are a substantial step above the souvenir-stall masks of Abidjan. The work — masks, figurines, glazed ceramics — is original and signed, and prices are reasonable. Hours are erratic; aim for a weekday morning.
