Getting There

Malealea is about 80km south of Maseru, Lesotho's capital, and the journey takes 2–3 hours on a challenging mountain road. A 4WD vehicle is strongly recommended — the last section of road is steep and stony. The lodge can arrange transfers from Maseru on request.

From South Africa, most visitors enter through the Maseru Bridge border crossing from Bloemfontein (about 150km). Some cross via the Van Rooyen's Gate or Makhaleng Bridge crossings which reduce the distance slightly. The lodge publishes detailed route notes with GPS waypoints on its website; use them, as the road signage is unreliable.
