William Tubman Mansion is the former home of Liberia's long-serving president, who was born in Harper and remains one of the country's defining political figures. The building is neglected, but its scale and setting still make it one of the most striking structures in town.
Do not expect a restored house museum. The value is in seeing the remains of Harper's political and Americo-Liberian past in the streets where that history is still visible.
