The Apollonia Museum in Susa is small but useful, especially if you are trying to make sense of the site before walking through the ruins. It has displayed finds from the excavations, including architectural pieces and material from the ancient city.
Opening arrangements can be uncertain, so ask locally before building the day around it. If it is closed, the museum is still a good landmark for orienting yourself at the western end of the archaeological area.
