Apollonia is beside Susa on the Jebel Akhdar coast, about 20 km northeast of Cyrene and Shahhat. The usual approach is by road from Benghazi through Al Bayda and the Green Mountain towns, or along the coastal road from Derna.
Do not count on public transport for a site visit. Arrange a vehicle and guide, and check whether local permissions are needed for archaeological access before travelling.
