Getting There

Misurata has its own airport (MRA) with limited service — primarily domestic flights to Tripoli and sometimes Benghazi, and occasional international connections. The main practical route into the city is by road along the coastal highway from Tripoli (about 3 hours) or from the east.

The port is significant for commercial shipping and was historically used for ferry connections, though passenger ferry service has been limited since the post-2011 instability. Check current conditions carefully before planning any travel to Libya — the security situation has been volatile since 2011, and travel advisories from most Western governments strongly discourage non-essential travel.
