Kirindy Forest Reserve protects dry deciduous forest north of Morondava, with baobabs, endemic reptiles, many birds, and some of western Madagascar's best chances of seeing lemurs and fossa. It is one of the strongest wildlife stops in the Morondava area.
The reserve takes effort to reach, but it is worth planning around if you are interested in Madagascar's dry forest ecology rather than only the Avenue of the Baobabs.
