Mzuzu is a working city rather than a tourist one, and its appeal is mostly practical: it's the supply point and gateway for northern Malawi. A morning in the market, an hour at the coffee union shop, and a wander past the cathedral covers what little there is to see in the centre itself. The real reasons to be here are nearby — Nyika Plateau, Lake Malawi, and the mission at Livingstonia.
