If you can manage to get to Amizmiz on a Tuesday, the weekly souk is not to be missed. Berbers from the mountain villages come down to sell alongside local vendors, spreading their goods across a sprawling open-air market. You will find everything from spices and fresh produce to livestock, clothing, and household goods. Nothing has a set price (except fresh food), so be prepared to haggle.
The market is authentic and largely untouristic — a working market for local people rather than a performance for visitors. Arrive early in the morning for the best atmosphere and the widest selection.
