Yves Saint Laurent Museum

Opened in 2017 next door to the Majorelle Garden, this museum is a striking piece of architecture in its own right — a building of terracotta-colored concrete with lace-like patterns that evoke the warp and weft of fabric. Inside, the permanent exhibition rotates a selection of YSL's haute couture designs from a collection of over 5,000 garments, showing how the designer drew inspiration from Moroccan colours, geometry, and craftsmanship. There is also a temporary exhibition hall, a research library, a bookshop, and a small cinema. The building was designed by Studio KO, and every detail from the lighting to the materials feels considered. Combine it with a visit to the Majorelle Garden.
