Maison de la Photographie

A private collection of historical photography of Morocco — about 4,500 prints from the period 1870 to 1960 — installed across three floors of a restored riad north of the Ben Youssef Madrasa. The selection covers ethnographic studies of Berber tribes, urban scenes from before the French Protectorate, and the work of early documentary photographers. The terrace café on the roof is a quiet place for mint tea with a view across the medina rooftops to the Atlas.
