A major sixteenth-century Saadian mosque in the souks north of Jemaa el-Fna. Non-Muslims are not permitted inside but the exterior — particularly the elaborate green-tiled minaret and the three-bay public fountain on the south side — is one of the most photographed corners of the medina. The Mouassine Fountain, with its carved cedar lintel, was once where neighbours filled their jars at dawn.
