Royal Golf Mohammedia

The Royal Golf Mohammedia is an 18-hole parkland course at the edge of town, set among mature eucalyptus and palm trees with the Atlantic in the background. The layout is flat and walkable, with several water hazards fed by the Oued Mellah and tight fairways that punish a wayward driver.

Green fees are modest by European standards and visitors can play without club membership; reserve a tee time a day in advance through the clubhouse. There is a decent restaurant on the terrace overlooking the 18th green that serves Moroccan and French dishes — open to non-golfers as well.

A story
The course was laid out in 1925 by French architects on land donated by King Mohammed V, then sultan, which gave it its royal title. It is one of only a handful of pre-war golf courses in Africa still in continuous play, and the original 1920s clubhouse is intact.
