Atalayoun is the polished face of the Marchica redevelopment, a peninsula on the lagoon north of central Nador. It is the easiest place to get broad water views without leaving the city area, and the contrast with the working streets of Nador is striking.
Come for the outlook rather than a deep cultural experience. A taxi can take you out and wait while you walk the waterfront, look back across the lagoon, and decide whether the new resort landscape improves or flattens this corner of the Rif.
