Nador's easiest day trip is Melilla, the Spanish enclave just along the coast, where Modernista architecture and fortress walls make a sharp contrast with the Moroccan Rif. Al Hoceima is farther west and deserves more than a day, but the coastal road gives a good taste of the Mediterranean Rif if you have your own transport.
