Ouirgane is 65 kilometres south of Marrakech on the S501 road — about 1.5 hours by car, depending on traffic leaving the city. There is no direct bus service; the practical options are renting a car, hiring a taxi (negotiate a fixed price from Marrakech), or joining a day tour.
Grands taxis run between Marrakech and Asni (14 km northeast of Ouirgane), from where another taxi covers the final stretch. This involves some waiting and requires local negotiation, but is straightforward for travellers with time. Many visitors come on day trips from Marrakech; staying overnight gives a very different — and much quieter — experience of the valley.
