Temara Beach is a long stretch of Atlantic sand that forms the western edge of the city, running several kilometres along the coast. It is the primary reason visitors come to Temara, and it is substantially less developed than the beaches north of Rabat — fewer tourist hotels, more local cafes and snack bars, and a more authentic Moroccan beach atmosphere.
The water is Atlantic and cool for most of the year; July and August see sea temperatures that are genuinely swimmable. The beach is at its best in the early morning and late afternoon; midday heat in summer can be intense. A promenade runs along the beach, lined with cafes that serve mint tea, fresh-squeezed juice, and grilled fish. The beach faces westward, which means it catches the Atlantic sunset directly — one of the better views along this stretch of the Moroccan coast.
