Keetmanshoop sits on Namibia's B1 highway, about 500km south of Windhoek and roughly 340km north of the South African border at Noordoewer. The B4 branches west toward Luderitz, making the town a common overnight stop on southern Namibia road trips.
Long-distance buses and shuttles may stop here, but a rental car is the most useful way to visit the surrounding sights. Fuel up before leaving town; distances in the south are long and services thin out quickly.
