Getting There

Tsumeb sits on the B1, Namibia's main north-south highway, about 440km north of Windhoek — a comfortable five-hour drive. The road is well-maintained tar throughout.

From Windhoek: Drive north on the B1 through Otjiwarongo. Tsumeb is a straightforward highway run with no significant obstacles.

To Etosha: The C38 leaves Tsumeb westward and leads 70km to the Namutoni gate, the easternmost entrance to Etosha National Park. This is the closest gate to Tsumeb and the most logical entry point if you're coming from the north or east.

Bus: Intercape runs a Windhoek–Tsumeb coach service several times a week. The journey takes around five to six hours.

Fill up with fuel in Tsumeb before entering Etosha — petrol stations inside the park are limited and expensive.
