Le Diamangou

Open-air riverside bar on the Corniche, next door to Les Tropiques

Address Corniche de Gamkalle

Le Diamangou sits right next to Les Tropiques on the Corniche de Gamkalle and draws a similar crowd: expats, NGO workers, local professionals, and anyone who wants a cold beer within sight of the Niger River. The two bars are effectively interchangeable for most purposes, though Le Diamangou tends to be slightly quieter and sometimes has live music on weekend evenings.

The plastic chairs and riverside tables are standard Corniche issue, and the view across the water is the same. Cold Flag beer is served efficiently, and the kitchen turns out grilled chicken and brochettes that are reliable if not memorable. If Les Tropiques is full — which happens on Friday and Saturday nights — Le Diamangou is an equally good option rather than a fallback.
