Getting There

Ilorin International Airport (ILR) has domestic flights connecting to Lagos (about 50 minutes) and Abuja. Flights are operated by Air Peace and other Nigerian carriers, and schedules change frequently — book ahead and confirm close to departure. The airport is 8 km north of the city centre; taxis are the standard way in.

By road, Ilorin sits on the main corridor between Lagos (about 300 km south) and Abuja (about 300 km northeast). Interstate buses from Lagos take around four to five hours depending on traffic; buses from Abuja take a similar time. The motor park (bus station) is in the city centre. Private car or hired taxi for the Lagos–Ilorin leg is comfortable and faster than the bus.
