Adamawa State University

The Adamawa State University campus sits on the northern edge of Mubi and is the largest single institution in the town. Founded in 2002, it draws students from across the state and the wider northeast. The campus is open, modern, and a useful orientation point if you are arriving from outside; the area immediately around the gates has bookshops, internet cafés, and small restaurants catering to the student crowd — by some distance the most reliable infrastructure in town.

The university briefly relocated to Yola during the worst of the Boko Haram insurgency around 2014–2015 and has since returned. Its presence is one of the main reasons Mubi recovered as quickly as it did.
