Presidential Palace

Sao Tome's Presidential Palace was built in the mid-19th century as the colonial governor's administrative centre, then expanded in 1954. Since independence in 1975 it has served as the presidential residence.

The palace is not open to visitors, and photography is not permitted, so this is an exterior landmark rather than a tour stop. It is still one of the main civic buildings to note while walking the capital's compact centre.
