A few kilometres south of River No. 2 and far less visited, John Obey is the place to go when River No. 2 has too many cars in its car park. The beach is a long shallow arc backed by palms, with a small fishing community at one end and the eco-minded Tribewanted lodge at the other.
The setting is the appeal — there is little to do besides swim, walk, and eat — and the lodge will arrange village walks or boat trips on request. A good overnight pairing with River No. 2 for travellers wanting two contrasting days on the coast.
