Sussex Beach

Family-friendly beach with calm water and a long sand bar

Sussex sits roughly halfway down the peninsula and is the easy compromise between bustling Lakka in the north and remote Bureh in the south. The water is calm, the sand is soft, and a couple of well-run lodges keep the standard of food and drink reliably high.

The village behind the beach is small and traditional. Walking the shore at low tide reveals tide pools and the working ends of the fishing boats. A good half-day destination if you want sea and quiet without committing to a long drive.
