A broad, undeveloped stretch of Indian Ocean beach that runs south from the settlement for several kilometres. The sand is fine and white, the water warm, and — in calmer times — this was precisely the kind of unspoilt coastline that travellers seek out. Coconut palms fringe the shore, and the fishing boats that still work the bay add some life to an otherwise empty landscape.
Access is the problem. The road south from Mogadishu passes through territory where security conditions are volatile. Do not travel here without current ground intelligence, reliable local contacts, and a clear exit plan. The beach is not worth the risk unless you are already operating in the area with proper support.
