Policeman's Helmet is a day hike in the Royal Natal area of the Northern Drakensberg, named for the shape of the rock formation. The route is roughly 14 km and is usually described as a four-hour walk.
The appeal is the open mountain scenery: cycads along the route, views toward the Amphitheatre, and a quieter alternative to the most famous waterfall and escarpment viewpoints nearby.
