A story
Fancourt has three championship golf courses and hosted the Presidents Cup in 2003 — the only time that event has been played on African soil. The Montagu course, redesigned by Gary Player, consistently ranks among the top 10 golf courses in South Africa. Non-members can access the courses by booking in advance; the estate is large and well-maintained, though the fees are substantial. The surrounding area also has a hotel and spa, which makes it a self-contained resort for those who are here primarily for the golf.
