Knysna eats well. The combination of excellent oysters, fresh fish, and a steady flow of visitors has produced a dining scene better than you might expect from a small town. Most of the better restaurants are on or near the waterfront and along Main Street.
Oysters are the thing to order wherever you see them — the local product from the lagoon farms is about as fresh as it gets. Mitchell's Brewery is the obvious pairing, and their tap room does food alongside the beer. The Knysna Quays waterfront development has several restaurants with lagoon views, ranging from casual to mid-range.
