The Dias Museum Complex is Mossel Bay's main in-town museum and the best place to understand its early European contact story. The complex includes the famous Post Office Tree, period buildings, a shell museum, gardens, and a life-size replica of the caravel used by Bartolomeu Dias.
It is an easy stop, but not a throwaway one. The mix of maritime history, local collections, and old trees gives the centre of Mossel Bay a historical anchor beyond the beach and harbour.
