Observatory Museum

The Observatory Museum is Grahamstown's strangest small sight: a Victorian house built around the interests of jeweller and amateur astronomer Henry Carter Galpin. Its camera obscura and optical curiosities make it more memorable than another row of period rooms.

It is close to the centre and pairs well with the cathedral and Albany Museum on a half-day walk.
