Double Mouth Nature Reserve

Wild estuary and beach area east of Morgan's Bay, known for forest, birds, and Bead Beach.

Double Mouth Nature Reserve is the natural next step beyond the Morgan Bay Cliffs. Two streams meet near the coast, forest comes down close to the water, and the beaches feel much less managed than the village strand.

Bead Beach, just beyond the reserve, is tied to a 16th-century Portuguese shipwreck and the small beads and pottery fragments sometimes found in the sand. Look rather than loot: the story is better when the place is left intact.
