Morgan Bay Cliffs

Dark dolerite sea cliffs with walking routes, surf views, and strong sunset light.

The Morgan Bay Cliffs are the village's signature sight: dark slabs of rock falling into hard surf, with rough paths along the top and big views back toward the beach. They make an easy walk if you stay back from the edge and a memorable place for sunset when the weather is calm.

The cliffs are also known in local climbing circles, but ordinary walkers do not need ropes to enjoy them. Bring shoes with grip, keep children close, and avoid the exposed edges in strong wind.
