The beaches north and south of Pangani are long stretches of white sand backed by coconut palms, and for the most part you will have them to yourself. The water is warm year-round and the coral offshore is in reasonable shape.
Maziwe Island, a small sandbar about 30 minutes by boat, is a marine reserve where green and hawksbill turtles nest. Snorkeling here is the best in the area. Boats can be arranged through local fishermen or your accommodation.
