The town's main market is one of the busiest in Togo's western hills, drawing traders from across the border in Ghana every Tuesday and Saturday. Coffee, cocoa, palm oil, cassava, smoked fish, fabric, and household goods spill out from the central halls into the surrounding streets.
The fabric section is particularly good for wax prints made on either side of the Ghana border; the colours and patterns are distinct between the two countries and you can find pieces from both. Best early in the morning. Bargain politely; small change is appreciated.
